The prosecutor of the Sol-Iletsk district of the Orenburg region approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 22-year-old local resident. She is accused of committing crimes under paragraph “g” of Part 2 of Art. 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture of a minor, knowingly being in a helpless state), part 1 of Art. 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing grievous bodily harm through negligence), part 1 of Art. 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of duties related to the upbringing of a minor, combined with cruel treatment with him).
According to the investigation, the accused, who was previously registered with a psychiatrist, caused her son born in 2019 physical and mental suffering, systematically beat him, did not provide the necessary conditions for growth and development. In addition, the mother’s inappropriate behavior caused the baby to receive grievous bodily harm in the form of a closed craniocerebral injury and a fracture of the parietal bone of the skull.
The reason for the investigation of the family and the initiation of a criminal case was the distribution on the Internet of video material confirming the abuse of a child.
The criminal case will soon be sent to the Sol-Iletsk District Court for consideration on the merits.
According to the results of the prosecutor’s check, organized after monitoring reports in the media and on the Internet, the head of the education department of the Sol-Iletsk city district, on the proposal of the prosecutor’s office, was brought to disciplinary responsibility for lack of proper control over a dysfunctional family.
At present, the accused and the child’s father, at the suit of the Education Department of the Administration of the Sol-Iletsk urban district, are limited in parental rights in relation to their son. The boy is in the Orenburg Regional Orphanage. Nothing threatens his life and health.
