The combat crews of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), from the Air Defense Division of the Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Northern Fleet, stationed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, conducted a scheduled training on air defense in the Arctic.

In the course of fulfilling the training task of protecting the airspace of the Northern Sea Route, the combat crews of the S-400 air defense missile system in their area of responsibility performed the detection and tracking of targets simulating the air attack means of a conventional enemy.

The training took place in the conditions of computer simulation of the air situation with practical training of the actions of operators of weapons control systems. The servicemen actually worked out the algorithm of actions for the combat use of anti-aircraft missile systems when repelling an enemy attack with the removal of control standards.

Such trainings with the implementation of electronic launches are carried out regularly to maintain a high level of preparation of combat crews of anti-aircraft missile systems serving the airspace protection in the Arctic zone.

The S-400 anti-aircraft missile system is designed to destroy all modern and promising aerospace attack weapons at ranges of several hundred kilometers, flying in the entire range of altitudes. Such systems are successfully operated in the Far North and the Arctic and have been on alert duty for the air defense of the Northern Fleet forces in the Kola Arctic for several years.
