The walls of the lobby will be faced with white large-format panels, and the ceiling will be decorated with slatted structures.

The Akademicheskaya metro station of the Kommunarskaya line will be decorated with black U-shaped constructions, reminiscent of portals, and graffiti with antique images.

“The architects have made a whole suite on the platform – the alternating black elements will be effectively highlighted. The alternation of luminous and dark planes of the portals creates expressive plastic. The track walls will be no less interesting: they will be decorated with antique works of art made using the graffiti technique ”, – noted

Sergey Kuznetsov, chief architect of the city of Moscow.

To implement the idea, digital printing on aluminum panels is used. The floors at the station will be made of light gray granite, large-format white panels will appear on the walls of the lobby, and the ceiling will be decorated with slatted structures.

The station’s ground pavilions will be faced with polished granite, a large area will be occupied by anti-vandal glazing – this will give the space a mirror effect.

The Akademicheskaya station of the Kommunarskaya metro line is located at the intersection of Dmitry Ulyanov Street with Profsoyuznaya Street. From there it will be possible to change trains to the station of the same name on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. In this regard, it is planned to renovate the lobby No. 1.

The construction of the Kommunarskaya metro line began in 2018. It will run from the station of the Moscow Central Ring Krymskaya to Troitsk. The new line will reduce the load on the central and southern sections of the Sokolnicheskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro lines and will reduce the intensity of traffic on the streets located nearby.
