Today, Prime Minster Justin Trudeau spoke with Mayor of Ottawa Jim Watson to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister and the Mayor spoke about the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Ottawa, and the challenges facing larger cities across Canada. They agreed on the importance of supporting our economic recovery while containing the spread of the virus and keeping people safe and healthy, including through increased testing capacity.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Mayor Watson also discussed work under way on affordable housing in Ottawa, and the urgent need to provide the most vulnerable with a place they can call home.
The Prime Minister and the Mayor agreed to continue working together on the response to COVID-19, in order to protect the health and safety of the people of Ottawa, and all Canadians.
