Headline: Dwelling vacancy rate continues to rise in 2020
On 1 June 2020, there were 78 832 empty dwellings in Switzerland. This was 1.72% of the total dwelling stock (including single-family homes). Some 3449 more dwellings were empty than in the previous year, representing an increase of 4.6%. The dwelling vacancy rate continues to grow, as it has done without interruption for over ten years. These are some of the findings of the empty dwellings census from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
