The scouts of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District carried out a parachute landing in the rear of a simulated enemy as part of a two-way tactical exercise at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The landing was carried out by servicemen in full combat gear from a Mi-8 helicopter from an altitude of 600 to 1200 meters, using D-10 parachute systems. After landing, the servicemen worked out a number of combat training tasks: gathering a group at the landing point and engaging in an all-round defense, conducting sabotage actions at the objects of a simulated enemy, as well as marching in full combat gear to the assembly area.

In total, over 3.5 thousand military personnel and about 700 units of weapons, military and special equipment were involved in the exercises. The exercise is being held under the guidance of Lieutenant General Sergei Kisel, commander of the ZVO Guards Tank Army.
