Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov made a joint working trip to the hero city of Tula, where at the Slobodka training ground of the Tula Guards Airborne Force together with the Governor of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin took part in the opening of the championship of the country’s law enforcement agencies in practical shooting, which is dedicated to the memory of servicemen and employees of special forces who died in the line of duty and service and combat missions.
The families of the deceased employees of special forces also took part in the opening ceremony.
The event is organized by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the command of the Airborne Forces, the government of the Tula region and is held from 2 to 3 October this year.
Then the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin took part in the opening of the monument to the Podolsk cadets who heroically defended the borders on the southwestern approaches to Moscow in October 1941, installed in front of the Tula Suvorov military school.
At the end of the working trip, the Deputy Minister of Defense and the Commander of the Airborne Forces visited one of the city’s leading armourers, JSC Tulatochmash, where they checked the progress of the state defense order for the production of range equipment and training complexes for further delivery to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
More than 120 employees of OMON and SOBR units, special units of the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Special Forces Directorate of the Security Service of the President of the FSO of Russia, consisting of 28 teams from Voronezh, Moscow, Tula, Ryazan, take part in the shooting championship.
The tournament program includes 14 exercises, including two night exercises. Their conditions are dictated by the specifics of the tasks performed by employees and military personnel of special forces. This is fire destruction of targets from an armored car through loopholes, assault on a bus and private households, and release of hostages. Modeling the situation during the exercise is as close as possible to the combat one. In this case, the judges will evaluate not only the number of targets hit, but the tactical algorithm of defeat.
As part of the military-patriotic education of the younger generation, the Patriot-Tula Park will host a championship in practical air pistol shooting. More than 80 young athletes from 9 regions of the country, as well as 40 youth soldiers from the Tula region will take part in it.
