More than 20 thousand units of modern gas masks with improved protective and operational characteristics of the PMK-4 were received by the troops of the Central Military District (CVD) in 2020. Modern personal protective equipment entered the Central Military District units stationed in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions.

PMK-4 is designed to protect the respiratory system, eyes, as well as the scalp and face from chemical warfare agents, radioactive dust and radioactive radiation. PMK-4 is fully integrated into the “Ratnik” personal equipment kits and outperforms earlier modifications of gas masks with improved panoramic observation modules, enhanced protection against toxic substances, and lower weight.

Earlier it was reported that the Central Military District units since the beginning of 2020 have received over 13 thousand sets of combat equipment for the Ratnik motorized rifle units and the Cowboy tank crews, as well as thermal imaging equipment, observation devices and sighting devices for small arms.

For reference:

The Central Military District is deployed in 29 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The okrug structurally includes a number of foreign objects: the 201st military base on the territory of Tajikistan, the united military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as units on the territory of Kazakhstan.
