The topic of a ban on the import of fish products by two Russian enterprises was raised, on the packaging of which the Chinese side found traces of coronavirus infection.

The Rosselkhoznadzor reported that an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the incident. The Russian side noted that it strictly follows the temporary requirements of FAO and WHO “COVID-19 and food safety”, which were previously sent to the Service.

The Rosselkhoznadzor has requested from the Chinese department the results of studies of Russian controlled goods for the presence of COVID-19. The State Technical University of China noted that the tests were carried out jointly with the authorities of Shandong province, in which the port of Qingdao is located. In this regard, the Rosselkhoznadzor must contact the government of this province through diplomatic channels.

Foreign colleagues noted that, according to Chinese law, products contaminated with coronavirus must be destroyed.

During the negotiations, it was emphasized that, according to the updated legislation of the PRC, food suppliers to this country should also independently conduct research on goods for the presence of COVID-19. The foreign agency will send a link to the regulatory legal documents of China, which says about this, to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
