Credit: Roberto Castro / MTurThe Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, met on Thursday (01.10), in São Paulo (SP), with representatives of the main tourist entities in the country to discuss joint actions between the government and the initiative private sector for the resumption of the sector. With proposals in the short, medium and long term, the meeting aimed to propose an alliance for the maintenance of jobs, the prospection of the future of the sector and the promotion of domestic tourism. The segment, along with proximity tourism, has been pointed out by national and international studies as the main responsible for the return to travel. For Álvaro Antônio, the meeting is important for the formation of an alliance that reinstates tourism as one of the main vectors economic conditions in the country. “Each of you has the possibility to put your proposals forward so that the actions are carried out and maximized for the good of Tourism. We are open to incorporating your ideas and contributions so that together we can raise our sector to the same levels as before or even higher ”, he declared. In addition to the alliance between trade and public authorities, issues such as differentiated taxation for tourism enterprises facilitating access to credit were also discussed at the meeting. The National Secretary for Attraction of Investments, Partnerships and Concessions, Lucas Fiuza, recalled that the Ministry of Tourism presented a new proposal in the Fungetur rules. “Last week we approved new general rules and criteria for the application of the fund’s resources in financing by financial agents so that the amount becomes more attractive to the sector,” he said. Still during the meeting, topics such as the resumption of tourism in business and events, as well as encouraging tourist travel. Members of the Brazilian Travel Association (ABAV), the Event Companies Association (ABEOC), the Corporate Travel Agencies (Abracorp), the Brazilian Amusement Park Companies (Adibra), the Air Tickets and Travel Services Consolidators were present.
