Three departmental research institutions, the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials (BGR) and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), which are subordinate to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), all come together Research project carried out with the ministry to research their past during the Nazi era and the post-war era. It is set to run for three years. The results will be presented at two international conferences, in several monographs and a biographical sub-project on perpetrators and persecuted people.
