Bogotá (Sep. 30/20). The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco Echeverri, chaired a virtual meeting with Deputy Maria-Manuel Leitão-Marques, member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats and of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly of the European Parliament, to identify synergies in matter of the digital agenda between Colombia and the European Union.

The Presidential Advisor for Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Victor Muñoz; the Sectorial Deputy Director, Daniel Gómez; the Director of Digital Development, Iván Durán, from the National Planning Department; the Director of Digital Government of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications, Aura Cifuentes, and the Ambassador of Colombia in Brussels, Felipe García, who referred to the digital transformation agenda of the National Government in the context of post-COVID economic recovery -19 and in the interest of deepening the relationship with the European Union, in particular in terms of digital skills, government and digital economy, innovation, connectivity, cybersecurity, co-creation and artificial intelligence, within the framework of the strategy “An adapted Europe to the digital age ”.

During this meeting, common concerns were addressed in terms of digital sovereignty, just and inclusive digital transition, security and citizen trust, as well as possibilities for joint work with the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly, with the support of the Colombian Embassy in Brussels.
