The grand opening took place in the village of Koshkino, Vsevolozhsky district, on the anniversary of the breakthrough of the energy blockade of Leningrad in 1942.

The opening was attended by representatives of public organizations, members of the Legislative Assembly, the Public Chamber and representatives of the branch of the TsVMM “Road of Life”.

The branch of TsVMM “Road of Life”, being a source of reliable information, took an active part in the creation of the room of fame. The exposition of the museum contains materials dedicated to the activities of the engineer-colonel of the Navy Nina Sokolova, as well as rare museum exhibits, such as diving equipment, inventory, elements of equipment from the times of the Great Patriotic War. Employees conducted lectures, consultations, selection of archival documentation.

The head of the Molodezhny center, Margarita Vladimirovna Kuortti, a member of the public chamber of the Leningrad Region, thanked the staff of the Road of Life museum and personally Viktor Stepanovich Bereznyatsky, the head of the museum, for assistance in preparing the exposition and active educational activities.

As part of the event, a round table was held with the participation of the Government of the Leningrad Region on youth policy. Participant of the round table from the museum “The Road of Life” junior researcher L.Sh. Kopovaya made proposals for cooperation in creating programs for the patriotic education of youth in the region.

Marina Labetskaya, daughter of Nina Vasilievna Sokolova, was the guest of honor at the event. She highly appreciated the work done and thanked for keeping the memory.
