An important priority in the field of European integration for the Government is the creation of new opportunities for Ukrainian business, in particular in trade and sectoral cooperation. This will be an important issue on the agenda of the EU-Ukraine Summit to be held on October 6 in Brussels. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 30.
On the outcomes of the session, the Government has approved three draft agreements between Ukraine and the European Union: “Climate Package for a Stable Economy: (CASE) in Ukraine”, “EU Program “Strong Regions”, “Civil Society Development Mechanism in Ukraine”.
The Prime Minister noted that the total amount of agreements would make up EUR 60 million, which will be transferred to help small and medium-sized businesses to improve towards environmentalization, support for the eastern regions of Ukraine, development of civil society.
“A EUR 10 million resource under the Agreement “Climate Package for a Stable Economy in Ukraine” will be directed to various measures to develop a resource-efficient, clean and competitive economy. A EUR 30 million funding will be directed to help the regions, in particular, to overcome the negative consequences of the pandemic,” said Denys Shmyhal.
Another EUR 20 million will be allocated to develop an enabling environment for civil society and its involvement in political processes.
