Politburo member Vuong made the statement at a get-together programme in Hanoi on September 30 to review the commission’s 70-year journey of development (September 30, 1950-2020).
Congratulating the body on its achievements over the past seven decades, he suggested that it needs to proactively renew its thinking and propose new ideas on the basis of maintaining the nation’s principles and persisting with the goal of national independence and socialism.
The commission should effectively research and forecast socio-economic strategies, while closely monitoring the global situation and the country’s reality in order to further improve the quality of its advisory and evaluation work and offer recommendations to the PCC, the Politburo and the PCC’s Secretariat on strategic issues in socio-economic development, Vuong said.

Speaking at the event, Politburo member and Head of the PCC’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh emphasised that over the past 70 years, the commission has successfully performed its functions and tasks as assigned by the Party and people, making important contributions to national socio-economic development.
With its achievements, the agency has received the Golden Star Order and many other noble awards from the Party and State.
