In the city of Sosnovy Bor (Leningrad Region), at the training center for submarine crews of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy, a solemn ceremony was held dedicated to the commissioning of the newest coastal training complex “Klen-85” intended for training submariners. The ceremony was held under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov.
The event was attended by Vladimir Dorofeev, General Director of the Malakhit Design Bureau, the leadership of the Main Military Construction Directorate No. 14, and the heads of directorates and services of the Main Command of the Navy.
The Klen-85 training complex is intended for group and single training of crews of compartments, command posts and the submarine crew as a whole. With the use of the complex, the quality of working out the main elements of course tasks, preparation for the use of standard weapons and technical equipment by the submarine’s crew, and conduct of operations both by a single submarine and as part of groups of submarines will significantly increase. Also, the complex allows you to practice the practical skills of all categories of personnel in the fight for survivability and the use of rescue devices and means of the ship.
For the training of personnel, the latest simulators are used, classrooms are equipped with equipment and teaching materials, stands and mock-ups on a real scale.

Their training is carried out taking into account the most modern requirements, “- noted the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, at the opening ceremony of the Klen-85 submariner training complex in Sosnovy Bor.
During the ceremony, the commander-in-chief of the Navy cut the red ribbon and handed the symbolic key to the head of the training center, Captain 1st Rank Sergei Beloborodov, after which the main components of the training complex were examined. During the inspection, special attention was paid to simulators and training classes, in which divers will have to improve their skills.
