Engineering units of the Eastern Military District (VVO), during special exercises in the Khabarovsk Territory, used sets of operational deployment of temporary roads for troops to overcome terrain and water obstacles.

After receiving the introductory letter, engineers, using a pontoon-bridge park (PMP), set up a bridge crossing with a carrying capacity of up to 60 tons and a width of up to 20 meters across the Amur River. The total length of the bridge was about 600 meters.

Then, for the safe advance of military equipment, the servicemen of the engineering reconnaissance unit searched for and neutralized conventional mine explosive devices using proximity mine detectors.

In addition, at one of the stages of the exercise, in difficult weather conditions, the servicemen worked out the standards for equipping trenches, positions for large-sized equipment using high-speed trenching machines and excavators.

In total, about 200 servicemen took part in the practical stage of the special exercise and more than 50 pieces of equipment and weapons of the engineering troops were involved.
