The Environmental Protection Department today gave out about 1,200 bottles of disinfectant hand sanitisers to refuse collection vehicle drivers at refuse transfer stations and landfills.

The department reminded the drivers to perform hand hygiene frequently and thanked them for standing ready to fight the epidemic.

As the epidemic situation in Hong Kong continues, refuse collection and transportation practitioners need to replenish disposable face masks and disinfectant hand sanitisers to minimise the risk of infection.

The department had given out about 50,000 face masks to the trade earlier to help them cope with the current challenges.

It will also provide around 500 bottles of disinfectant hand sanitisers to frontline recycling workers.
