Specialists from the railway forces of the Eastern Military District (VVO) set up a ferry crossing over the largest tributary of the Amur – the Zeya River in the Amur Region. The work carried out in the shortest possible time made it possible to transfer several trains to the opposite bank of the river. The events were held as part of a large-scale exercise with the district’s logistics units.

According to the legend of the teachings, the conditional enemy destroyed the bridge of the Trans-Siberian railway. To restore communication between central Russia and the Far East, the forces of the VVO railway connection were promptly involved.

During the active stage of the event, the servicemen brought the railway tracks to the river bank and loaded the wagons onto a special ferry. Also, through the Amur, special pontoons and floating conveyors carried out the transportation of heavy vehicles. Sections of the NZhM-56 floating bridge were used to ferry cars and equipment.

As part of the drawing, a special guard detachment repelled an attack by a group of conditional saboteurs on a ferry crossing and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of the “enemy”.

In addition, a special guard detachment successfully eliminated a mock enemy group, which attempted to seize one of the ferries, operating on motor boats. Later, an aerosol curtain was placed over the crossing area, which hid the transfer of troops from the strike of precision weapons and aircraft.

At different stages of the exercise, about 800 servicemen took part in the guidance of the ferry crossing and the laying of routes and more than 200 pieces of equipment were involved.
