An area of ​​more than 40 hectares will be checked for explosives by military sappers during a complete cleaning of the area of ​​the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery complex.

15 specialists of the Interdepartmental Training Center of Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are involved in the work, including 6 divers with a modern diving station PRSV-M to carry out work in the water area of ​​the lakes located on the territory of the monastery complex.

At the moment, more than 19 hectares have been examined and 5 explosive objects have been found during the Great Patriotic War: mortar mines of 50 and 82 mm caliber, as well as an RGD-33 grenade. After discovery, explosive finds were removed from the territory of the monastery for subsequent destruction.

The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
