A commemorative stamp of one day was made to cancel the postal block. The postmark is engraved with the inscription “300 years of the victory of the Russian fleet in the Grengam battle”. The postal block itself is decorated with a fragment of the painting “The Battle of Grengam on July 27, 1720” (date according to the old style) by the Russian marine painter Alexei Petrovich Bogolyubov.
The city of Kaliningrad became one of the three cities of the Russian Federation (Moscow and St. Petersburg), where events of cancellation of the historical stamp took place.
The stamp “300 years of the victory of the Russian fleet in the Battle of Grengam” was issued as a postal block. The block depicts a fragment of the painting “The Battle of Grengam on July 27, 1720” (date according to the old style) by the Russian marine painter Alexei Petrovich Bogolyubov. The painting was painted by him in 1866 and is now in the State Russian Museum. The size of the stamp block is 80 mm x 60 mm, the size of the stamp itself in the block is 50 mm X 37 mm. The value of the commemorative stamp is 100 rubles. The postal block is printed on coated paper by offset method using blue metallic paste and a protective complex. Out of the total circulation of 30,000 pieces, the FPS of the Kaliningrad Region of the Kaliningrad Region received only 200 pieces.
