The government also expresses its solidarity with the lebanese

On behalf of the people of Timor-Leste, the Government expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the explosion, which took place in the port area of Beirut, Lebanon, on Tuesday, the 4th of August, in the year 2020. The Government expresses its solidarity with the Government and the people of Lebanon who are facing the effects of the disaster.

A loud explosion rocked the Port of Beirut, lebanon, which has caused seismic waves equivalent to an earthquake of 3.3 on the Richter scale, causing countless material damages in the nearly half of the city, with more than 100 fatalities, more than five thousand injured, and nearly 300-thousand displaced people.

A spokesman for the VIII Constitutional Government, and the Minister Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães, said: “our feelings go out to all the families who have lost loved ones, and we salute those of you who are still determined in search for survivors. Timor-Leste is in solidarity with the Government and people of Lebanon in these difficult days and on the challenges that are posed to everyone in the coming weeks and months.” In ORDER to
