The Mayor of London has said that the Greater London Authority (GLA), which is responsible for the Met Police, London Fire Brigade and TfL, is facing a budget shortfall of up to £493 million over the next two years. The Mayor’s overall budget for 2020-21 is £18.5 billion.

What services does £493 million provide for Londoners? How will potential cuts impact our fire, police and transport network?

The London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee will tomorrow question the Mayor on the impact of COVID-19 on the GLA’s finances.

The guests are:

  • Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
  • David Bellamy, Mayor’s Chief of Staff
  • David Gallie, Executive Director, Resources

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 7 July 2020 from 11.00am. In line with government advice, this meeting will take place virtually.
