The ATSB is investigating an unreliable airspeed indication involving a Pilatus PC-12/47E, VH-OWI, near Albany, Western Australia, on 22 June 2020.

During descent, the pilot detected an airspeed mismatch between the pilot and co-pilot primary flight displays (PFD) and elected to return the aircraft to Jandakot.

As part of the investigation the ATSB will speak with the crew, obtain maintenance and inspection records and gather additional information.

A report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation.

Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties so appropriate action can be taken.
