The Environment Bureau today said applications for a subsidy programme, which provides job opportunities for graduates interested in environment-related fields, is open until August 28.

The Graduates Subsidy Programme subsidises private companies and organisations to employ 2019 or 2020 graduates to work in areas related to environmental protection, ecological conservation, green energy and energy conservation, climate change and sustainable development.

As part of the Green Employment Scheme, the programme will be implemented from 2020-21 to cover more than 200 jobs.

Employers of eligible graduates will be provided with $5,610 a month to form part of the monthly salary for each eligible graduate for 18 months.

The Environmental Protection Department’s Environmental Academy will collaborate with the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals and other organisations to provide professional training for graduates under the programme.

Eligible companies and organisations wishing to apply for the subsidy should do so by August 28.
