Las Cruces, NM—Today, Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) issued the following statement in reaction to the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) late Friday afternoon announcement that they would now share key information about businesses and organizations that received funds from the Paycheck Protection Program:
I am encouraged that the SBA has heeded my calls to increase its transparency by releasing the information of those companies that received PPP loans. This initiative has received bipartisan support and will help address concerns that the SBA allowed too many mom and pop businesses to be crowded out of the first round of funds. By increasing the program’s transparency, we can find and address its shortcomings and improve access to the program for our smallest small businesses.
