Technology saves Clinician’s time and allows him to more thoroughly analyze the survey results.

Radiology Department outpatient clinics are starting to use voice input for creating reports. Technology facilitates and accelerates filling of documents, since radiologists no longer need to enter information manually. The time to complete the Protocol is reduced by 22 percent, and specialists can focus on more careful study of the results of the studies reported Anastasia Rakova Deputy Mayor of Moscow on issues of social development.

New technology began testing in June of last year in seven clinics. The pilot project was considered a success and from September began to implement in other urban medical institutions. Now voice assistant used in all the clinics where it could connect. Several service connect after replacement of analog equipment to digital, which takes place in the framework of the implementation the new standard of the Moscow clinics.

“The new technology significantly optimizes the work of a doctor, reducing the time of preparation of research protocols. Using the voice input the time spent on the preparation of the Protocol of the radiologist, is reduced by 22 percent. Thus, the specialist has more time to thoroughly analyze the study results and medical records of the patient, which in turn greatly improves the quality of diagnosis,” — said Anastasia Rakova.

The virtual assistant sometimes mistakes happen — they are mainly associated with the recognition of prepositions and the lack of alignment between words in sentences. So after completing the Protocol the doctor reads and corrects misspelled words. According to experts of the center of diagnostics and telemedicine, the system is trained to recognize the speech with acronyms, abbreviations and specific medical terms.

“At the beginning of the implementation of the pilot project the quality of speech recognition was 87%, but due to the active development of the system and constant feedback from doctors the quality of recognition was increased to 97-98 percent,” — said the Deputy Mayor.

To improve the quality of speech recognition, diagnostics and telemedicine transferred to the center for speech technology 2.6 million anonymized protocols x-ray examination. Based on these data, the experts are finalizing the technology. Doctors say that the introduction of voice filling protocols can be useful not only radiologists, but surgeons, endoscopists and doctors of forensic medicine, and in the future therapists and neurologists.

Most effective technology is in the description of computer studies, magnetic resonance imaging and digital radiography. Templates, protocols, fluoroscopy and mammography be filled quickly in several mouse clicks.

The radiological diagnosis goes digital. Soon all of her diagnostic equipment will be connected to a single radiology information service. This decision was made after a meeting Sergei Sobyanin with radiologists and experts on the development of radiological diagnosis, which was in August 2019.
