Order intake in the construction industry, March 2020-10,5 % month-on-month (real, seasonally and calendar adjusted)-10.3% in the previous month (in real terms, adjusted for calendar effects)of -4.2% year-on-year month (in nominal terms)

WIESBADEN – The real (price-adjusted) order intake in the construction industry was, according to the Federal Statistical office (Destatis), in March 2020, the seasonal and calendar effects, was 10.5% lower than in February 2020. Such declines in the seasonal and calendar effects adjusted order is not input are unusual. Nevertheless, this development suggests that companies have postponed planned construction projects due to economic uncertainty in the Corona-crisis.
