Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis had a videoconference today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides.This was the first of a round of meetings that the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will hold with his colleagues in the other 46 member states of the Council of Europe, in his capacity as Chairman of the CoE Committee of Ministers.
During his conversation with the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Varvitsiotis presented the priorities, programme and main goals of the Greek Chairmanship, which began on Friday, 15 May, and runs through 18 November 2020.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus thanked Mr. Varvitsiotis for the briefing, highlighting the vital importance of the Greek Chairmanship’s choices. Finally, he assured him that the Republic of Cyprus will assist in any way it can towards the success of the Greek Chairmanship.
