Headline: 2020 adds one more extreme phenomenon to its calendar: the largest hole in the Arctic ozone layer

As a result of last winter’s unusual weather conditions, ozone concentrations over the Arctic reached a record low in March. The hole, which has just been closed, was larger than the one produced in the spring of 2011, until then the largest on record. Experts point out that the deterioration would have been even worse had measures not been taken to reduce chlorofluorocarbons.
