Bogotá (Apr. 30/20). Today, April 30, 153 nationals who were in France and who previously registered in the Consular Register as temporary travelers, return to the country, requesting support for their eventual return to Colombia.

This is announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Claudia Blum; the Minister of Transport, Angela María Orozco; and the director of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, who also report that the return of these Colombians was achieved thanks to the authorization of the National Government for the arrival of a humanitarian flight, operated by a commercial airline. In addition, they indicate that the three Entities have been working jointly on the arrival of this type of exceptional flights.

Chancellor Blum celebrates the return of these Colombians, and highlights that with this flight it has been achieved that, until today and in 20 humanitarian flights, 1,910 nationals return to the country.

The Minister of Foreign Relations also states that this fact occurs in accordance with the protocol established for this class of flights, which stipulates, among other things, that citizens assume the cost of the air travel ticket, as well as carry out the respective Registration Consular

For her part, the Minister of Transport, Angela María Orozco, points out that to the operation of these flights, which have been carried out exceptionally in Colombia, strict protocols and biosecurity measures are applied to all air terminals, as a strategic activity that guarantees the supply chain at this time of emergency.

Juan Francisco Espinosa, Director of Colombia Migration, indicated that prior to entering the country, the group of Colombians should fill out the formulario Preventive Control Against Coronavirus ’form, through the website of Colombia Migration.

Likewise, after disembarking, all occupants of the flight will receive three health evaluations from Port Health, the Red Cross and the District Health Secretariat.

Colombians arriving in the country today must comply with the mandatory isolation measure in the city of Bogotá. Compliance with this may be verified by Colombia Migration, the National Police or the District Health Secretariat, and those who do not abide by it, may incur administrative and criminal penalties.

It is important to clarify that the passengers and crew of the flight should inform the authorities if during isolation they present symptoms related to the disease. In addition, they must comply with the controls and prevention measures established in Legislative Decree 439 of 2020 for this type of exceptional flights authorized for humanitarian reasons.

Finally, Chancellor Claudia Blum ratified the permanent commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue supporting, accompanying and guiding Colombians who are abroad, through its different embassies and consulates.
