The Special Case Hearing of a former officer has concluded.
On Friday, 10 January 2020, former PC Richard Williams was given a two year suspended sentence after previously being found guilty of seven counts of fraud by false representation forgery.
A Special Case Hearing on Thursday, 30 April found that between March 2015 and September 2017, former PC Williams had submitted, forged or altered sickness certificates.
It was alleged that these actions breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of Honesty and Integrity and Discreditable Conduct, and that they amounted to gross misconduct.
The panel concluded that had he still been a serving officer, he would have been dismissed without notice.
Former PC Williams, who was attached to East Area, resigned from the MPS on Thursday, 28 February 2019.
