In order to achieve full official status for the Irish language by the end of 2021, the Irish authorities and the Commission, together with the other EU institutions, meet regularly to monitor the recruitment of a sufficient number of Irish language personnel by the EU institutions in order to successfully manage the gradual ending of the derogation.
1. Can the Commission give an update on the progress made thus far with regard to bringing the derogation on the Irish language to an end?
2. Does the Commission believe that sufficient progress is being made towards ending the Irish language derogation by the end of 2021?
