Lancaster– Today, Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) released the following statement regarding the announcement of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) award of over $1.5 million in funding to two community health centers in Pennsylvania’s 11th District, as a result of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
“These funds will continue to aid our community health centers in our fight against COVID-19. These funds are a significant federal investment stemming from the CARES Act, which I supported. I am committed to ensuring a robust and coordinated response to combat COVID-19. Together we can slow the spread and win this war against COVID-19,” said Smucker.
On Friday, March 27, President Trump signed the CARES Act into law. Over $1.3 billion in funding has been provided to nearly 1,400 community health centers across the nation, through HHS’s Health Resources and Services Administration. Additional information on this announcement can be found here.

Lancaster Health Center received $894,650
Welsh Mountain Health Centers received $784,025
