On the occasion of 50 years of the Francophonie, the government of New Caledonia is launching, in partnership with the OPT, a contest of illustration for the school. The two works of the winners will have the chance to appear on a postage stamp or on an envelope first-day. Participants have until 3 April to submit their most beautiful achievements !
The year 2020 will mark 50 years of the creation of the Francophonie, the so-called institutional, based around the sharing of a common language, French. On 20 march 1970 in Niamey, Niger, was born, in fact, the ancestor of the international Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF), of which New Caledonia is an associate member since November 2016.
The government is associating with this event, in partnership with the OPT-NC, by organizing a competition around the stamp, an object that symbolizes the correspondence and reconciliation, the image of the Francophonie, which connects more than 80 countries and territories around the world.
This contest illustration applies to all primary schools, colleges, and high schools from new caledonia to raise awareness among young people in this theme. Through their achievements, the students have to express their representations of the Francophonie, of its values, or the commitment of New Caledonia in this movement.
The budding artists are free to use all the techniques accepted usually to create mock-ups of stamps colours : crayons, felt pens, pastels, watercolor, oil, stencil and all digital techniques, with the exception of photography. The 1st Prize, awarded by a jury composed of representatives of the government and the OPT-NC, will illustrate the stamp, celebrating 50 years of the Francophonie. The work awarded with the Prize of the Francophonie will, as to it, on the envelope first day of issue of the stamp celebrating the event.
To participate, students must be supervised and represented by a teacher. Elementary students may participate individually or collective, according to the educational project that wishes to implement their teacher.The high school students will have to participate individually.
