Ovam, there is a big problem in delaying ship construction. Currently, the lag for all contracts is almost a year. It was the reasons for the excess shipbuilding deadlines and the possible consequences that were discussed at the meeting. “The shipyards overestimated their strength. It’s time for the state to intervene in the situation with delays in the construction of ships under investment quotas, and this should be done immediately, ”said Sergey Nesvetov, Executive Director of the Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet. According to Sergei Mitin, a joint discussion of this problem is necessary with the involvement of the Federal Agency for Fishery, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. “The shipyards themselves cannot cope with the problem of lack of resources, time limits and legislative restrictions. Delays in terms of time on the part of shipbuilders negatively affect fishermen who received their quotas for fishing and crab. The approach is also unfair when shipbuilders in the Far East are given indulgences that are not available to colleagues in the European part of Russia, ”the senator emphasized. At the end of the event, the meeting participants visited large-capacity trawler processors under construction at various levels of readiness.
