17-02-2020Разочарованы the adoption on 17 February 2020 the EU Council decision to extend the restrictive measures of the EU against Belarus for another year. We believe these restrictions are unfounded remnants of the past and a manifestation of political inertia in the approaches of the European Union to establish a dialogue with Belarus. It is obvious that in recent years the Belarusian-European relations much more than in the previous decade of sanctions. We are sure that in the EU realize that the ritual renewal of restrictive measures against Belarus does not lead to any positive results. Again call on the EU to abandon sanctions clichés, which only hinder dialogue and cooperation on bilateral issues and overcoming the common challenges in our region. Constantly striving towards construction of a good-neighbourly and partner relations with the European Union, including on sensitive topics. We urge the EU to further expand the political dialogue with Belarus, including in the context of pragmatic regional cooperation. We hope that in the near future the Belarusian-European relations will become truly non-discriminatory.
