President Ahraf Ghani met with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands today on the sideline of the 56th Munich Security conference and discussed the Afghan peace process, role of Netherlands in the framework of Resolute Support Mission.

Talking over efforts to end the ongoing violence in Afghanistan, they said that Taliban should accept the Afghan people’s demand for sustainable peace and stressed that the peace process should move forward with the Afghan government owning and leading it.

The two leaders also discussed the role of Dutch troops to train, advise and assist the Afghan Defense and Security forces.

President Ghani asked Netherlands to cooperate in share its successful experiences in mining and agriculture with Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Rutte assured that his country would continue to cooperate with Afghanistan within the framework of the Resolute Support Mission.
