Headline: ASIA/TURKEY – the Decree of the Turkish government: the Armenian Patriarch is allowed to wear religious vestments outside places of worship

Istanbul – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signed a special presidential decree to confirm that Sahak II Masalyan, the new Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, has the right to wear his robe from the religious when it comes out from the places of worship and is located outdoors or in public environments. The specific provision is included in presidential decree n°1838 December 16, 2019. The content of the decree become public domain only at the beginning of February, and have been re-launched mainly to Agos, the newspaper bilingual Armenian-Turkish headquarters in Istanbul.
