Dear VP/HR,

At the Brussels summit on the achievement of climate neutrality by the European Union, the Polish Government sought to be exempted from the principle of adapting its economy to climate neutrality by 2050.

Given the huge costs of the transition, it will implement it at a different pace to the other Member States.

Do you intend to seek to accelerate the transition of Poland’s energy sector and industry towards lower CO2 emissions through financial incentives and other economic instruments, or do you think, like the French President, that Poland should not benefit from EU funding for the just energy transition?

If you believe that Poland should be helped in this very difficult transition in order to meet climate goals faster than it has set out, please state what level of funding will be available to Poland, and from where, and to what extent it will receive EU support.
