Saturday 18 January 2020, about 1805, a BMW car travelling between Aclens and Bussigny, at a place called Mill of the Shock, collided with a car shipping OPEL circulating normally in the opposite direction. Following the violence of the shock, the BMW continued on its course and collided with a car HONDA, which was travelling normally in single file, before coming to a stop. The driver of the OPEL died. Regrettably, several people injured, 2 very seriously wounded, among the occupants of the vehicles involved. An investigation is underway to elucidate the exact circumstances of this accident. The cantonal Police launched an appeal for witnesses.

Saturday 18 January 2020, around 1805, the driver of a car BMW 7-series, circulating on the cantonal road between Aclens and Bussigny, has lost control of his machine. It collided almost head-on, in a curve at large radius to the right, with the car delivery OPEL Vivaro, which was travelling normally in the opposite direction. Under the violence of the shock, the OPEL has been thrown on its side and is lying on its left flank, at nearly 4 meters from the floor. The BMW continued to race and came violently hitting the left front of a car HONDA Accord, which was normally in a file behind the OPEL. After 2 consecutive shocks, the BMW finally parked on the strip of grass.

Despite the prompt arrival of relief, they have failed to note the death of the driver of the OPEL. His passing is very seriously injured. The driver of the BMW is also very seriously injured, his passenger being wounded himself, as the driver of the HONDA.

The road was closed for the purposes of the intervention, and could not be reopened as to 0430.

In the framework of the investigation opened by the Prosecutor’s service, and entrusted to the specialists of the movement of the gendarmerie, the Police cantonale vaudoise is launching a call for witnesses in order to establish with precision the circumstances of this accident. The people that travelled on this route at the time of the accident or who were in the immediate vicinity and would be in possession of items likely to advance the investigation are urged to contact the Center for engagement and transmission on 021 333 5 333

This accident necessitated the involvement of a large number of stakeholders, including : 4 ambulances, rescue units of Morges, with 2 helicopters of the REGA, firefighters of the SPSL and SDIS Morget, a duty officer of the SBB, 9 the patrols of the gendarmerie, as well as the unity movement and the canine unit. The Police west of lausanne (POL) is reached for the closure of the road. A team of emergency support (ESU) has also been initiated.
