Guoren Insurance, Towngas and China Life Insurance opened their Shenzhen branches in Tower B of the Central Times in Luohu on Dec. 23.
Nearly 100 distinguished guests attended a ceremony held by the Luohu district government to mark their opening in the ground-floor lobby of the office building on the same day.
The participants included Zuo Jinping, deputy director of the Luohu government, Fang Yongbin, Party chief and president of Guoren Insurance, Ji Weiyi, executive director of Towngas, Zhang Yong, deputy general manager of the China Life Insurance Shenzhen Branch, etc.
Fang said the company had not only set up its headquarters in Shenzhen, but also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Luohu, and registered itself in the district, because “Luohu, with its strong financial sector, provides fertile soil and a favorable environment for business”.
In the first half of 2019, the added value of Luohu’s financial industry hit 42.8 billion yuan ($6.12 billion), up 9.3 percent year-on-year, and its financial sector accounted for 39.5 percent of its gross domestic product, the highest among all the districts in Shenzhen.
Ji said Towngas has deep ties with Luohu, as its headquarters was set up in Luohu in 2002, and then relocated to the neighboring Futian district. “It was Luohu’s commercial value and future development that pulled us back,” Ji added.
The arrival of the three companies is emblematic of the Luohu government’s efforts to attract companies, particularly financial enterprises, to set up their headquarters in the district. The government has been dedicated to improving its work efficiency and services.
China Gas, one of the largest state-owned gas suppliers, has also agreed to build its global headquarters in Luohu earlier this month during an investment promotion fair held by the municipal government of Shenzhen.
The 127-meter tall Tower B of the Central Times, which covers an area of 43,816 square meters, is a landmark building in the center of the Hongling emerging financial industrial belt in the district.
