Over 20 kilograms of synthetic drugs were seized from the offender’s car and caches in Ryazan, Kursk, Voronezh and Saratov regions.
“Operatives of the Drug Control unit of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Ryazan Region, together with the FSB of Russia regional department, detained a 30-year-old resident of the city of Kursk on suspicion of drug trafficking.
According to available information, the offender used conspiracy methods. Under a false name, he communicated with customers of flights through encrypted communication channels. However, investigators found his data on the Internet and established the illegal traffic routes.
The suspect was detained at one of the gas stations in the Rybnovsky District of the Ryazan Region. The police seized from his car several packages, which, as the examination established, contained over 8.5 kilograms of synthetic drugs.
From caches in the city of Ryazan, Rybnovsky District, Ryazan Region, Kursk, Saratov and Voronezh regions, investigators seized 5 large batches of synthetic drugs weighing from 1,000 grams to 3.5 kilograms.
As a result of those measures, a total of more than 20 kilograms of drugs were seized from illicit trafficking. The Investigation Administration of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Ryazan Region initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 5 of Article 238.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In respect of the defendant, the court selected a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
