“The investigative unit of the Internal Affairs Administration for the Northern AD of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow completed the preliminary investigation of a criminal case charging the alleged members of a criminal community with fraud causing a damage of more than 195 million rubles.
As previously reported, investigators and operatives of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow established that the offenders found information about residential premises whose owners or tenants had died, had been missing or single people. Then the accomplices made fake apartment sale contracts or agreements of gift on behalf of the owners. For purposes of conspiracy, when committing unlawful acts, criminal community members used fake powers of attorney and passports of citizens of the Russian Federation.
Currently, the circumstances of committed by the defendants 23 episodes of unlawful seizure of the right of ownership of residential premises located in the capital have been established. The total amount of the damage exceeded 195 million rubles.
The investigative unit of the Internal Affairs Administration for the Northern AD of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow initiated criminal cases on the grounds of crimes provided for in Articles 30 and 159, as well as 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, combined into one proceeding.
The police detained 13 defendants during an attempt to commit another unlawful act. Placement to custody and house arrest were selected by court as the preventive measure for nine suspects. The rest are under recognizance not to leave and behave properly.
Currently, the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor has been sent to the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits,” said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
