Preschoolers and younger students will compete in 10 disciplines: from the culinary business to engineering of space systems.

Started the semi-final Moscow children’s tournament of professional skills KidSkills. It will run until 12 November on the grounds of the Metropolitan colleges.

The jury in face-to-face round were 1592 children (796 teams) — they are all preschoolers and younger students. For the right to participate in this stage of the championship struggled for more than three thousand children from 380 educational organizations. During the elimination round they had to prepare their projects and upload them to the official site of the championship.

Now the children have to complete assignments for one of 10 disciplines: “city-farming”, “Engineering of space systems”, “prototyping”, “Graphic design”, “Cooking business”, “Multimedia journalism”, “Operation of unmanned aircraft systems”, “Technology development of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR)”, “Mobile robotics” and “electronics”. The semi-final participants will show what they have learned during the series master classes.

“Any competition allows children to show and assess their abilities. Each stage requires serious preparation: they need to read a lot, seek new information, learn to work in a team,” — said Tamara Sharova, President of the Moscow Association of culinary specialists, the expert of WorldSkills Russia, Professor and member of the Presidium of trade Union of workers of trade and public catering of Moscow.

The final of the championship will go to 20 teams in each discipline. The final stage of the competition will be held from 18 November to 18 December.

KidSkills is a unique opportunity for children to meet a lot of interesting professions. Early career guidance not only helps to expand their understanding of the world of work, but also develops skills that will help them in the future. The project started in 2018. Then the competitions were held only in five disciplines: “Aerospace engineering”, “Graphic design”, “Cooking business”, “Prototyping” and “city farming”.
