The Constitution Committee of the Chamber today unanimously agreed to approve the idea of ​​legislating a total of nine initiatives to reduce the diet perceived by lawmakers, as well as the number of these.

The instance, thus agreed to approve and ask the Chamber for authorization to consolidate, in the first place, six constitutional reform projects (bulletins N ° 9304; 10101; 11124; 11151; 11840 and 12319) whose objectives are to reduce the parliamentary diet as well as other high authorities of the State; In addition, a bill that sets the limit for determining said remuneration (bulletin No. 9502).

Likewise, the commission also approved two projects that modify the Constitutional Organic Law of the National Congress, in relation to the number of deputies and senators (bulletins No. 11692 and 12346).

The commission will continue its debate in this Wednesday’s session, to determine the form and speed with which it will be discussed in particular.

During the session, a call was also made for the Senate to process the reform that limits the re-election of these authorities, approved by the Chamber of Deputies in 2012, and which is in the second process in said Corporation.
