History and today’s life of libraries in which Mikael Tariverdiev and Pavel Lyubimov took the books, and Daria Dontsova worked as a librarian.

2019 — double anniversary for the library of a name of Andrey Platonov. This year there are two dates: the 120 years from the date of writer’s birth and 65 years since the founding of the library. Today its activities are inextricably linked with the life and work of Platonov, but it was not always so.

Favorite library the creative intelligentsia

In 1954, on the ground floor of a residential apartment building on the street Usievicha opened a new library no 120. It quickly became very popular among local residents because it was located at the same distance from two metro stations “Sokol” and “Aeroport”. The first book is about five thousand units — provided the Central city library named after N. And. Nekrasov.

The queue for books lined up in long, sometimes reached the front door. Stood for new books and ordinary citizens and famous. New name

Initially, the library belonged to the Leningrad area from the mid-1980s to on, then changed her room at the 68th. Now the library belongs to the district of the Airport, its full name is “Library № 42 name of A. P. Platonov”.

The name of one of the major Soviet writers-innovators library was rated in 1989, when the country celebrated the 90th anniversary since the birth of Platonov. The library staff established a relationship with his relatives. The writer’s daughter Mary gave a very important exhibit is a collection of poems by his father’s “deep Blue sea”, published in 1922. The village store notes made a writer’s wife Maria Alexandrovna Platonova under his dictation. Later poems came out in print only with these edits.

Today the library contains about two thousand books, brochures, photos and videos relevant to the writer. In native Voronezh, Platonov took the first creative steps — 18 years writing for local publications reviews, essays, notes. For writing came from working environment: as a teenager, he began to work as a assistant locomotive engineer. In the memorial room recreated his workplace. From 1931 until his death the writer lived in the house 25 on Tverskoy Boulevard. Permanent exhibitions are not only in the memorial room, but in the lobby and the reading room — a “Way of life of Andrei Platonov”, “Reading Andrei Platonov and Andrei Platonov through the prism of the XXI century”.

Not only books

As the last 30 years, the library continues to increase awareness of the work of Platonov. During the year satisfied with the Platonic reading — literary evenings with the participation of actors and reciters. For pupils of the Airport area are Plato lessons where children are introduced to the life and work of the writer a little more than for schoolwork. For young people annual competition “Young platonove”, and for the most creative visitors to the library are two of the club “Moscow salon of writers” and club of fans of poetry, “Northern lights”.

The library collaborates with organizations that explore the work of Platonov, Institute of world literature named after A. M. Gorky archive in Moscow literary Museum, Voronezh regional archives and the Central city library of a name of Andrey Platonov in Voronezh. Library events are often visited by the son-in-law and grandson Platonov, Mikhail and Anton Martynenko.
