Visitors to the stand of Moscow saw the city from a bird’s flight and met with large projects that can attract tourists.
Moscow presented its tourist potential at the international exhibition ITB Asia which was held from 16 to 18 October in Singapore. On the stand organized Committee on tourism presented more than 30 capital projects and attractions, and the participants have conducted more than 350 workshops.
On behalf of the Government of Moscow in the exhibition took part Deputy Chairman of the tourism Committee Natalia Suvorova. She has conducted a number of interviews and business meetings, including negotiations with the Russian Ambassador in the Republic of Singapore Andrei Tatarinov. In addition, the office of the tourist organization of Singapore (Singapore Tourism Board) held a meeting with the head of business innovation and digital transformation Gan Hui Yu. the two Sides exchanged experience of the tourism infrastructure and stressed the readiness for further cooperation.
Several times a day on the stand of Moscow took place the presentation. It is possible to know about the main attractions of the Russian capital, as well as to get acquainted with features of the festivals of the cycle “Moscow seasons”. Everyone could make a flight over Moscow in the VR-glasses to see three-dimensional objects “Moscow-city” in augmented reality, pointing the mobile device camera to special AR marker, as well as participate in gastronomic tastings.
As told Dau Naaman, the General Director of one of the capital’s transport companies, which participated in the exhibition, the Moscow stand was allocated on the General background, it attracted visitors.
“We were able to talk with representatives of those countries that do not reach at the European exhibition for distance. Soon we expect the flow of new orders,” he said.
Representatives of the city held many official and business meetings, and also participated in the panel discussion “thinking: winning the hearts of MICE buyers”. It experts talked about the need for the successful organization and business corporate events.
“The meetings that were appointed, were justified and potentially interesting not only from the point of view of the stay of the tourist groups, but also in the context of business tourism. We saw this trend was the increase in flows from Asia in relation to business activities. They are interested in Russia and Moscow in the first place as the main area of MICE tourism in Russia”, — said Olga Tkacheva, Deputy General Director of Moscow’s river fleet.
In anticipation of the exhibition in Singapore October 15 passed a hockey match, organized by the capital Committee on Tourism in conjunction with the project “The Last Game” (#TheLastGame) and the first ambassador of Moscow Vyacheslav Fetisov. The match was designed to draw attention to environmental issues. It was attended by over 20 players from several national teams.
Until the end of 2019 in Moscow will take part in two more exhibitions — World Travel Market
in London and IBTM World in Barcelona.
In 2019 Moscow participates in the international tourism forums. In April, Moscow has presented the tourist potential at the exhibition World Travel Market Latin America. The Moscow booth attracted more than five thousand professionals in the tourism industry in Latin America, and its members have carried out more than 640 meetings. The largest tourist exhibition in the Middle East Arabian Travel Market, held from 28 April to 1 may in Dubai, Moscow presented more than 30 projects. More than 8,5 thousands of professionals of the tourism industry visited the stand of Moscow, and the participants have conducted more than 980 business meetings and negotiations.
In June in the framework of the presentation at the international exhibitions in the Asian region the Moscow stand was awarded several awards: the show SITIF 2019 in Seoul, the Muscovites won the prize for the best stand design the exhibition BITE 2019 in Beijing (China) — the award for best creative presentation of tourist potential Best Creative Award, and the International Travel Expo in Hong Kong the prize of spectator sympathies.
ITB Asia — one of the largest international tourist exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2019 it was attended by over 1300 exhibitors from 132 countries. For three days the exhibition was visited by over 13 thousand people. The main target audience of the exhibition are the representatives of tour operators, hotels and tourist organizations.
