To request the President of the Republic to modify the criteria for the granting or renewal of subsidies and / or pensions that the State grants to persons with disabilities is the objective of resolution 534, approved by the Chamber of Deputies.

The document recalls the innumerable obstacles that the system produces today, causing excessive bureaucracy in the applications to have access to the aforementioned benefits, transforming the eventual support into a denigrating treatment.

Likewise, it is expected to make the procedures related to the granting and / or renewal of the benefits granted by the State to persons with disabilities more expeditious and efficient and therefore less bureaucratic.

It is also required that a Single Disability Subsidy be established for all children in a situation of severe disability, regardless of their origin and that the amount of the allowance be equaled for all those who meet the defined allocation criteria.

Finally, it is proposed to establish, without the need for any procedure, the continuity between the disability allowance and the Basic Solidarity Pension for disability upon reaching 18 years of age.

The idea was presented to the Chamber by the RN Catalina Del Real and Alejandro Santana; FRVS Esteban Velásquez; DC Joanna Pérez; UDI Sandra Amar and Virginia Troncoso; Boris Barrera PC; PS Jaime Naranjo; and PR
