The impact of Brexit on the free movement of people will significantly affect the lives of EU citizens. This is a matter of concern for the thousands of Galicians – economic migrants, students and researchers – who, for various reasons, have had to move to the United Kingdom. Like other European citizens, they have been put a state of uncertainty about their future in terms of their residence, social, political and health rights by the consequences of Brexit.

In addition, Brexit will have an impact on the Galician economy, especially in the fisheries sector, as there are Galician shipowners operating under the British flag and the flag of the Falkland Islands, 47 of which operate in Galician ports.

(2) Can the Commission provide information on the consequences which Brexit will have on the Galician fisheries sector?
